Creating Content that Converts

Here is what you need to know about creating content that converts.

The other day, I was asked by a colleague how to create content that converts. They wanted to know what my process was or who wrote the content for me. The following questions made me quickly think of resources to share, one of which was a video done by Sean Withford almost two years ago related to content. I sent the clip. I sent a few others I felt would be helpful and on time.

Then, I said, let me see what Sean has been up to. I haven’t seen his posts for a while.

I saw that his last video was done several months ago and in it, he spoke about not producing content or video during the pandemic, but he also shared how he landed 2 large clients because of a video he produced 2 years ago!

Here I was doing the same thing. Sharing his 2 year old, highly relevant, evergreen content to help someone else. It made me realize several things that may put this into perspective for you.

1. Copywriting and EFFECTIVE content creation is a SKILL.

2. Content marketing is a long game, not a 90-day sprint.

3. You must absolutely listen to what your audience needs, and give it to them. Use social listening tools and pay more attention in your conversations with others. Be helpful. Even if you share depth in what to do, 90% of people will not have the determination, drive, or willpower to execute. They’ll think of you to help them implement.

4. Differentiating yourself is not nice to have. It helps you to be memorable and credible. Think: What makes me stand out from every other John Maxwell coach out there?

What Sean is experiencing is similar to what I have experienced many times. I have had content items shared, and discussed in rooms where I was not physically present. It led to conversations that led to business, some four and five years later.

Your content is like a corporate Sponsor. It advocates for you, brings your name up when you are not around, and positions you as the best solution to solve the problems presented.

The problem most people have is not knowing who they are writing for, or how to write to their needs. If this is you, watch this free video to get started, then contact us for a one-time private consulting session. You’ll walk away with clarity and a step by step plan to implement.
